Why Green Lantern is So Awesome

If you ask anyone who their favorite super hero is, a lot of people will say that it’s Batman, Superman, Spider-Man or any of the other common heroes that people tend to look up to. Because of the fact that most people tend to have such narrow views of how many super heroes there are out there, a lot of perfectly good heroes end up being underplayed in some way. People don’t take these heroes seriously enough, and as a result these heroes end up being ignored when in truth they should be celebrated.

Green Lantern is one such hero. He has some incredible powers that make him a league apart from everyone else. After all, the Justice League wouldn’t be complete without a member from the Green Lantern Corps there to help out. His powers allow him to use a ring on his finger that can create objects so strong that even Superman would have a hard time destroying them. These objects can be used in pretty creative ways to create projectiles or weapons. The ring can also give the Green Lantern the ability to fly.

If you want to learn about why Green Lantern is such an incredible superhero, you should read Blackest Night. This comic has a really amazing story arc that shows why Green Lantern is important, and why the DC universe just wouldn’t be the same without this hero giving everyone what he has to offer. You can visit GothamArchives if you want to read this comic. This site has plenty of comics that you can read through, especially if you are looking for the classics that might not be available in stores anymore. Finding the right comic can help you appreciate superheroes a lot more.

The Best Waffle Makers

If you ever step into my kitchen, you will realize just how much I love waffles. Not because I keep making them all the time, but because I am more or less obsessed with waffle irons. Now you might be wondering just how one can be obsessed with waffle irons. Well, you would be able to find the answer when you go through my collection of waffle irons that are sitting in my kitchen.

Yes, I have to confess that I own a collection of waffle irons, with each one being different than the other. Although they serve the same purpose, they allow me to switch up my waffles. For instance, if I do not feel like eating a full-sized waffle, I will make a smaller one.

With that said, I am going to walk you through the wall the waffle makers that are sitting in my kitchen, and all of them are actually good ones.

Waffle Stick Maker

As ridiculous as it may sound, I do own a waffle stick maker. I got this as a gift a few years ago, and I am in love with it. The waffles that come out of the maker are small enough to be dunked in my favorite dip, or my favorite beverage. Yes, the learning curve can be difficult as you need to understand just how much batter goes into one slot, but once you perfect that, you will be using it a lot.

Classic Square Waffle Maker

Classic, square-shaped waffles will never go out of fashion. The one I am using is called the Classic Square, and it is among the best. It can make two waffles at a time, and the best part is that it heats up really quickly as well, so you really do not have to worry about anything that can be a bother. More importantly, the thing that you need to know is that if you like experimenting as I do, this waffle maker is definitely something that you should invest in.

Round Belgium Waffle Maker

This is one of the simpler, and older waffle makers that I own; it does not require a lot of work and does not come up with a lot of features. But the good thing is that over the years, it has served me consistently, and proved to be a trustworthy friend.

Bubble Waffle Maker

If you like bubble waffles, then you should definitely own this. It is one of the best waffle makers that I have. It makes some really good-looking waffles, and the best part is that it works really well as well. There is consistency in the heating process, so I can assure you that your waffles will not come out looking strange, or uncooked.

I guess that about wraps it as far as the waffle makers are concerned. I know it sounds strange, but if you love waffles as much as I do, you will understand why this article is all about.

Making Waffled Mac And Cheese

The one thing I am absolutely sure about is that people love waffles, and people love mac and cheese. So, much so that if it were healthy, they would eat it every day. However, have you ever wondered what would happen if these two things are combined?

That is exactly the thought that crossed my mind, and I went onto the quest to see if it happens. At first, I started as anyone else would. I just put the mac and cheese into the waffle iron and waited for the magic. Sadly, it did not work as the cheese just melted, and the macaroni did not stick to the grid at all. Then I decided that I am going to need a different way if I am going to succeed, and in order to achieve that, I put the mac and cheese into the blender to see if that does the work by creating a batter sort of mixture. However, my attempts were all in vain, as no matter how I treated the mac and cheese, it just would not stick. The last attempt I made was creating a loaf out of mac and cheese, thinking that it would work, and while I was not a fan of the texture I got, I had my hopes up. Sadly, that did not work either.

So, at that point, I pretty much gave up on the idea entirely, and start looking at other things that I could turn into waffles. Until the idea of mac and cheese came back to haunt me and I started looking for more ways. I looked over the internet, and the internet suggested I bread it, and so I did.

The first step was to neatly lay the mac and cheese on a sheet pan, and refrigerate it; after an entire day in the refrigerator, I took it out and started coating it with a mixture of flour, egg, and bread crumbs. Once that was done, I put them in the waffle grid, and to my surprise, they came out really nicely.

Yes, I do have to mention that taking them out of the waffle iron was a bit tricky, however, with some patience, and my trustworthy spatula, I was able to take my waffle mac and cheese out and to be amazing. However, the entire process might result in the waffles being a bit dry, however, you can easily take care of that by drizzling it with a little olive oil, and you are good to go.

The reason why I went to the extent of writing this is that if you are trying to experiment with different foods and turning them into waffles, perhaps this article will help you. I am going to rephrase myself again and talk about how waffles are amazing, just like mac and cheese is, and combining both of them together makes a heavenly breakfast, or a snack that no one can disagree with.

Making a Healthy Waffle

This is perhaps the strangest thing to many but you can actually make healthy waffles with ease. People love waffles, and if it were up to me, I would eat them every day. However, you need to understand that eating them every day could be unhealthy. They are made with processed white flour, refined sugar, and you put maple syrup on them too.

However, the good news is that waffles do not have to be unhealthy as you can actually make them healthy with ease. You will need to make some changes to the recipe but those changes are barely noticeable, and you would still end up with some great waffles.

The Flour

The first step is to remove the white flour from waffles and replacing it with something like whole wheat, or whole grain flour. I know it sounds strange, but this way, your waffles will have more fiber, as well as more vitamins. Additionally, you can actually substitute half of the flour you are using with almond flour. This way, your waffles will have a taste of nuttiness in them, and you will get high fiber, as well as high protein.

Flaxseeds

If you are looking for some healthy mix-ins, then adding a tablespoon of flaxseeds is a great alternative. Remember, the seeds do not have a taste of their own, and you will get Omega 3 acids. You can additionally mash up some avocados or bananas as well in order to get the most of your waffle batter, resulting in some really great tasting, and moist waffles.

Use Healthier Toppings

Sometimes, the waffles are not as unhealthy as the toppings we use. In order to minimize that, you can opt for some healthier toppings, and when it comes to healthier options, the choices you have are limitless. Just pick any fruit you like, and make a topping out of it. You can choose from fruits like berries, bananas, pears, as well. Additionally, you can use chia seeds, nut butter, as well as some Greek yogurt. If you are craving syrup, then you can easily go to the market, and find some healthy, calorie-free syrups that you can use instead.

A Good Waffle Maker

I know this may sound strange but there are waffle makers that have chemicals in them that make your waffles not so healthy. To avoid that from happening, the simplest thing that you can do is opt for something that is actually healthier. If you want to go for a non-stick waffle maker, make sure it is a non-stick ceramic waffle maker because that one has no PTFE chemicals which are certainly good for the consumption.

So, that is it as far as the healthy waffles are concerned. If someone tells you that you cannot make a healthy waffle, simply show them this article. For those who are wondering, these tips have been tried personally, and all of them work without any issues coming in the way.
